A significant part of the stock of the Cathedral Library of Esztergom consists of the heritage of the prelates and canons of the Church. The notes of ownership, the ex libris of the volumes enable us to determine the library of a given owner, to trace back the origins of a given book. Lajos Némethy (1840-1917), librarian of the main diocese collected the ex libris of the owners in his work The List of Ex Libris Notes of the Cathedral Library of Esztergom (Esztergom, 1903). As a continuation of his work, we would like to make the possessor notes, ex libris of our volumes accessible to our readers and researchers by the continuous development of our database.
